Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research is Second Largest India’s Premier Nuclear Research Centres. The IGCAR Established in 1971 at Kalpakkam. When it Established IGCAR name is RRC (Reactor Research Centre) and it was renamed as Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research by the former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi in December 1985. The Centre is engaged in a broad-based multidisciplinary programme of Scientific research and Advanced Engineering Directed towards the Development of Fast Breeder Reactor Technology. A.L Bhadur is the Present Director of the IGCAR.
